Co-Founder, President and CEO,
As the driving force behind Chameleon Cold-Brew, the nation’s original purveyor of consciously crafted cold-brew coffee, Chris Campbell is committed to authentic brewing methods, ethically sourcing, and providing a premium cold-brew product. Since inception in 2010, Campbell has spearheaded the company’s momentous growth, from its humble beginnings in Austin, Texas, to the large national presence it has today, including national distribution in Target and Whole Foods Market. Campbell’s responsibilities include maintaining the vision of the brand on a daily basis, managing business development, creating a collaborative and supportive company culture, and inspiring innovation, all while keeping the brand true to its Austin roots and founding principle: Coffee Made for Makers. Since the initial launch of the flagship Cold-Brew Black Coffee Concentrate the brand has seen triple digit growth every year, the portfolio now includes five concentrate varieties as well six ready-to-drink cold-brew options, with more breakthrough innovation debuting in 2017.
The tremendous growth of the brand landed Chameleon the #140 spot on Inc’s 5,000 list in 2016, beating all other bottled coffee brands on the list, thus securing the #9 spot in top food and beverage companies overall. Chameleon also made Entrepreneur’s 360 list, securing their spot at #46, recognizing the brand as one of the best-privately owned businesses in America.
Prior to founding Chameleon, Campbell served as a vice president at Capital Hotel Management where he worked with clients such as the National Park Service, and spent eight years at PricewaterhouseCoopers specializing in real estate finance for the hospitality industry. As a busy professional working long hours, he relied on coffee to keep him fueled and alert. Thus, Campbell’s passion for coffee ignited, and he was intrigued by the promise of cold-brew coffee, but never tasted anything up to his standards. His quest for the best-tasting cold-brew inspired the birth of Chameleon.
Campbell holds an MBA from the Jesse H. Jones School at Rice University and an undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin. As a cold-brew and food industry expert, Campbell enjoys sharing his passion and inspiring fellow entrepreneurs and coffee drinkers alike through industry events, speaking opportunities, tradeshow panels, and beyond. In his downtime, Chris is an avid outdoorsman, partial to fly fishing, cycling, and hiking.
